Job description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fashion Design Trainer to join our creative faculty. The trainer will be responsible for delivering hands-on training in fashion design, including concept development, garment construction, textile knowledge, illustration, and digital design tools. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the fashion industry, combined with a flair for teaching and mentoring students toward creative and industry-ready outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver classroom and practical training in areas such as:

• Fashion sketching & illustration (manual and digital)
• Pattern drafting and garment construction
• Draping techniques and textile knowledge
• Fashion history, styling, and trend forecasting
• Portfolio development and presentation skills

Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with industry standards and curriculum objectives.

Guide and evaluate student design projects and final collections.

Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate real-world insights into lessons.

Mentor students on career paths, internships, and competitions.

Collaborate with the academic team to enhance the learning experience.

Organize or support fashion shows, exhibitions, and workshops.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• ACLP/ACTA certification.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in the fashion industry or fashion education.
• Strong skills in manual and digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO3D).
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Passionate about mentoring and nurturing creative talent.
• (Preferred) Prior teaching or training experience in an academic or vocational setting.
