A leading institute in Singapore is seeking a Bioinformatics Specialist to enhance software development and data management. The lab of Computational Transcriptomics at the Genome Institute of Singapore (led by Dr Jonathan Göke) is recruiting a Bioinformatics Specialist to support the team?s software development and data management projects. The candidate will work together with other team members to optimise code, implement new algorithms, and optimise existing machine learning models. In addition, the candidate will be in charge of data management and documentation using both cloud and on-site compute and storage resources. The candidate will further have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research projects in the areas of cancer genomics, single cell genomics, population genomics, or neurodegenerative diseases, and to lead their own research project.
The candidate will join an experienced team with expertise in collaborative methods development and large scale data generation and analysis. Requirements:
B.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Genomics, or a relateddiscipline
Good programming skills (Python and R, or other languages)
Candidates should be highly organised and have a strong motivation to learn and contribute to the team
Excellent communication skills
