Responsibilities
Manage ongoing broker relations and expectations in relation to underwriting, co-ordinating and ensuring the flow of relevant and timely information and communication between internal functions and external parties
Contribute to managing and developing an agreed portfolio of accounts
Negotiate with brokers/ customers to achieve favourable terms for the Company
Underwrite allocated cases in line with the agreed processes with the necessary senior direction and support
Make balanced and well-reasoned recommendation for acceptance of each case above one's authority
Underwrite risks in accordance with the Company’s capacity and risk appetite
Provide error-free documentation to brokers/cedants
Ensure transactions are processed within the agreed timeframe
Supervise and guide the allocated processing team to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions
Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines, including internal policies, rules and procedures
Requirements
Min Bachelor’s degree ideally from the discipline of Management/Business Studies, Accountancy, Data Science, Actuarial Studies, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics
At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in the non-life/General Insurance sector in commercial property/ engineering insurances; prior working experience in the Reinsurance sector will be a definite advantage
Compensation and job title offered to the final candidate will commensurate with his/her experience and fit for our role
Team management experience but not critical
Able to collaborate with colleagues of all levels and manage stakeholders’ expectations
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
Good communication and organisation skills
Good time management
