Job Description Summary

The Material Planner is responsible for material planning to meet production schedules and inventory requirements, ensuring the efficient and timely clearance of imported and exported goods through customs while coordinating logistics. This role requires knowledge of customs regulations, supply chain management, and logistics to optimize material flow and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support plant-wide materials input/output, inventory, and on-time delivery performance, updating system status as necessary.
  2. Develop and implement detailed material plans to support production schedules and inventory needs.
  3. Collaborate with procurement and production teams to forecast material needs, ensuring availability and preventing shortages or excesses.
  4. Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and inventory levels.
  5. Handle documentation and coordination for import/export shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and procedures.
  6. Prepare and submit documentation for customs clearance, classify goods with correct HS codes, and declare duties and taxes accurately, ensuring compliance with Singapore's Major Exporter Scheme (MES).
  7. Work closely with Logistics / Customs COE to resolve issues.
  8. Monitor and track shipments for timely delivery and clearance.
  9. Maintain records of customs activities to ensure compliance with audits and regulations.

Qualifications:

  1. Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics, or related fields.
  2. Proven experience in material planning and customs clearance, preferably in manufacturing.
  3. Experience with SAP is an advantage.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Supply chain management certification.
  2. Strong knowledge of customs regulations and compliance.
  3. Familiarity with ERP systems.
  4. Experience with continuous improvement and JIT inventory concepts is a plus.
