Job Description:
- Assist with Instruction: Provide assistance to the early intervention teacher during lessons, helping to implement educational plans and strategies tailored to each child's individual needs.
- Support Individualized Learning: Work one-on-one or in small groups with children to reinforce lessons, support skill development, and encourage participation in activities as instructed by the teacher.
- Provide Personal Care: Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and hygiene, ensuring the comfort and well-being of the children.
- Promote Social Interaction: Facilitate social interactions between children, encouraging communication and cooperation in a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Create Learning Materials: Assist in preparing and organizing educational materials, resources, and activities that are appropriate for the developmental levels and needs of the children.
- Manage Behavior: Employ positive behavior management techniques to create a calm and structured environment, helping children to develop appropriate social and behavioral skills.
- Provide Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and encouragement to children, helping them build self-confidence and self-esteem.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, special education professionals, and other team members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to children's development and learning.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the physical safety of children by following safety protocols and guidelines, both indoors and outdoors.
Requirement
- Minimum Diploma
- Prior experience working with young children, especially those with special needs or developmental delays, is preferred.
- Experience volunteering or working in educational settings, preschools, day care centers, or special education programs can be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, teachers, and other team members.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment for children.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of children with varying abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, including teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
- Basic understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
