Job description

Primary Function
  1. Provides support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area.
  2. Optimizes existing processes to ensure production goals are met, including attainment of production levels on an hourly, daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
  3. Monitors performance of equipment, machines, and tools; corrects equipment problems or process parameters to prevent non-conforming products, low yields, or quality issues.
  4. Interfaces with Quality and Research & Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the manufacturing area.
Major Responsibilities
  1. Manages projects related to Manufacturing Equipment/Design, ensuring high quality standards.
  2. Oversees planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products.
  3. Ensures effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel to produce quality products cost-effectively.
  4. Ensures compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
  5. Leads technical activities for new or improved products and processes to meet strategic goals.
  6. Prepares reports and presentations to communicate findings.
  7. Partners with Engineering on installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  8. Implements, documents, and maintains controlled, repeatable production processes.
  9. Creates and upgrades operating procedures for manufacturing personnel.
  10. Develops qualification and validation protocols; participates in qualification and validation activities.
  11. Interfaces with other departments and suppliers to address root causes of issues.
  12. Incorporates business policies and procedures into tasks.
  13. Understands business and customer needs and cultivates internal and external resources to meet tasks.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  2. 2-5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  3. Proficiency in SAP systems and advanced project management capabilities.
  4. Ability to make swift, judicious decisions and respond effectively to dynamic situations.
  5. Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and methodologies.
  6. This position is based in Tuas.
