Key Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Engineer, your primary role will be, but are not limited to:
- Provide network, system, and other infrastructure deployment and management
- Provide professional service and deployment of cybersecurity solutions and infrastructure for our security vendor partners
- Manage and execute complex projects such as the integration and upgrade of security solutions (including anti-malware, network IPS, firewalls, proxies, web application firewalls, DDoS, Endpoint Detection and Response, Identity and Privilege account management, SIEM, vulnerability management solutions, etc.)
- Handle project implementation activities and processes
- Perform hands-on review, configuration, and hardening of customers’ assets (e.g., security and network devices, workstations, servers, applications, middleware) following security best practices and guidelines such as CIS Benchmarks
- Manage ongoing deployment of solutions as part of managed security services
- Detect and mitigate threats, manage endpoint protection, and implement infrastructure to monitor, detect, alert, and mitigate cyber threats
- Support the cyber incident response team by performing detailed investigations of security-related incidents
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience; minimally a diploma holder
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in infrastructure design, deployment, management, and cybersecurity or a similar role
- Strong background in infrastructure and security architecture, including knowledge of IT networks and security (secure LAN, WAN, VLAN, MPLS, network zoning, restricted network design), and cloud technologies
- Experience with major cloud services such as AWS, Azure, etc.
- Proficiency in operating systems like Unix/Linux/Mac/Windows
- Strong knowledge of network engineering, including Windows Server architecture, virtualization, networking, backup solutions, and disaster recovery
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions like secure remote access, firewalls, web proxies, and identity management, both internally and in cloud environments
- Understanding of current cybersecurity vulnerabilities, response, and mitigation strategies
- Experience with vendor solutions such as Trend Micro, Vectra AI, Tenable Nessus, Fortinet, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of preparing technical and non-technical documentation and presentations
- Certifications like CCNA, MSCA, MSCE, demonstrating core technical skills; additional certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH, or CISM are highly desirable
- Experience with solutions from vendors like Symantec, Trend Micro, SSH, Splunk, etc., is advantageous
