Take on a senior leadership role in a large ship management unit of BSM. This is a key position where you’ll lead a large team, oversee major operations, and play a crucial part in shaping our success.
Job Objective
- Lead the unit’s strategic planning and operational initiatives, aligning with BSM’s mission to drive sustainable growth and high-quality operations. Focus on team performance to enhance efficiency, client service, and profitability, supporting BSM’s broader strategic goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to define the unit’s strategic goals and lead department heads in executing them.
- Optimize the utilization of the available resources of the Ship Management Centre according to operational needs, providing support and coaching to Directors and Department Heads to increase efficiency, productivity, and alignment with BSM values and culture.
- Chair regular management review meetings, analyze executive reports from all departments regarding the Ship Management Centre's operations, and develop actions to address discrepancies and findings, providing valuable insights for the group’s decision-making.
- Analyze local and global maritime trends to improve BSM’s efficiency and competitive edge.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory standards and implement improvements to enhance cost-effectiveness and minimize risks.
- Monitor executive reports and lead corrective actions to maintain operational excellence.
- Conduct at least 4 ship visits per year to engage directly with operational teams.
- Approve unit budgets, identify efficiency opportunities, and drive cost-effective solutions.
- Build and lead a high-performing team through recruitment, training, and support, aligning with BSM’s values and goals.
Requirements
Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent
- MBA or equivalent OR
- Chief Engineer/Master Mariner/General Management
- At least 10 years of Shore Experience with a Ship Management or Ship Owning Company
