Responsibilities:

1. Manage manufacturing purchasing requirements for a large plant or division to support customer needs.
2. Select suppliers from the approved 3M list, participate in negotiating site-specific purchasing contracts, and track and manage supplier performance.
3. Use the Total Cost Model to ensure appropriate inventory levels, optimize transportation costs, and maintain business flexibility.
4. Serve as the plant expert on interfaces between plant purchasing systems and corporate sourcing systems.
5. Improve business results by providing analysis and data interpretation to enhance supply chain processes.
6. Promote supply chain thinking and optimization for existing and new processes, including US and transnational processes.
