Job description

Research Assistant (Part-Time) - Physical Education & Sports Science Department

The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant (part-time) on a 16-month contract.

Project Title:

The influence of engaging in nature-based physical activity on minimalist and true-to-self consumption through eudaimonic well-being.

Project Introduction:

This research project focuses on understanding consumer behaviour in the context of physical activity, exercise, and sport from a social psychological perspective. Its objectives are:

  1. To understand the impact of nature-based physical activity on consumer behaviour, especially prosocial consumption behaviour, including reducing unnecessary consumption.
  2. To understand the mechanisms underlying this relationship.
  3. To identify factors moderating the baseline relationship.

The study will include multiple methodologies such as survey studies, online survey experiments, field experiments, and laboratory experiments.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in sport management or related disciplines (e.g., marketing, social psychology).
  • Good knowledge of statistical analysis and data collection.
  • Experience in conducting experimental research involving human participants.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, with basic coding knowledge.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct literature reviews.
  • Recruit participants and schedule data collection.
  • Manage data collection schedules with part-time student research assistants.
  • Assist with data collection (online surveys, field and lab experiments).
  • Perform data analysis using SPSS, R, Python, or other software.
  • Prepare reports, conference presentations, and drafts for journal publications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
