Based in Singapore, you will be an integral part of the Private Capital team, focusing on supporting direct investments and opportunities in Japan and South Korea. You will play a key role in supporting senior investment professionals in analyzing potential investment opportunities and executing transactions in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, you will monitor the performance of existing investments and collaborate with portfolio company management teams to craft strategies and implement value-enhancing initiatives. The Investment Associate will contribute to a team culture where multiple investment groups collaborate effectively across markets.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including colleagues based in Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Toronto, and London, as well as external professionals such as management teams, investment bankers, consultants, board directors, and lawyers.
You will work with small deal teams to evaluate potential investments and determine their attractiveness as investment opportunities. Your responsibilities include conducting industry and company research, building sophisticated financial models, managing third-party advisors, analyzing due diligence reports, arranging debt financing, reviewing legal documentation, and preparing materials for the Investment Committee.
Post-transaction, you will stay involved with the business, potentially attending board meetings as an observer, and work with management to implement value-enhancing initiatives such as acquisitions, debt refinancing, budgeting, and strategic projects.
