Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage a full spectrum of shipping operations, including contracts management and documentation.

  • Handle a complete set of shipping documents to ensure fast turnaround, shipment processing, contract allocation, and vessel nominations.

  • Coordinate shipments with suppliers, buyers, shipbrokers, ship owners/agents, surveyors, insurance companies, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth loading and delivery.

  • Liaise with banks for Letters of Credit (LC) issuance, clean negotiation, and collection documentation.

  • Utilize SAP, ITAS, or related systems for invoicing and document matching.

  • Follow up on shipping claims, demurrage/despatch, receivables, payables, and client aging accounts.

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments (Commercial, Risk, Global Offices, Finance, Accounts, Pricing, Chartering, etc.) to identify and mitigate execution risks.

  • Proactively highlight and resolve issues related to shipment execution.

  • Ensure adherence to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for smooth operational execution.

  • Manage other ad-hoc shipping and operational tasks as required.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with strong knowledge of:

    • Bulk shipments

    • Letters of Credit (LC)

    • UCP 600 rules and ISBP standards

    • Shipping documentation

    • Sales/purchase contracts

    • Laytime calculations

    • Charter Party terms

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

  • Able to work independently under tight deadlines.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.

  • A diligent team player who thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to work irregular hours to support global operations across different time zones.
