Credit Control & Collections Manager to lead our credit and collections team within the auto finance division. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in credit management, particularly in
auto finance and property-backed loans, and will be responsible for implementing credit control policies, managing collections activities, and leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and enforce effective credit control policies and procedures to mitigate credit risk.
- Assess customer creditworthiness through regular financial evaluations and credit risk analysis.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and initiate timely follow-up on overdue accounts.
- Lead the end-to-end collections process, ensuring prompt and professional customer follow-ups.
- Design and implement collections strategies, including payment plans and dispute resolution workflows.
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile customer account discrepancies.
- Mentor, train, and lead a team of credit control and collections officers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Set and monitor performance metrics; conduct regular reviews to ensure individual and team goals are met.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate smooth and transparent payment communications.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve disputes efficiently and professionally.
- Prepare and present periodic reports on collection performance, aging summaries, and risk assessments to senior management.
- Analyze collections data and trends, providing actionable insights to improve performance.
- Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
- Identify emerging risks and adjust credit policies or strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Sales and Finance to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in special projects aimed at improving credit and collections processes.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:- Proven expertise in auto finance, factoring, unsecured lending, and property-backed loans
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit control and collections management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, collections strategy, and legal compliance.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
