Position Purpose
The Payroll Officer is responsible for processing and maintaining payroll records for all employees in a timely and accurate manner. This role involves managing payroll systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and providing support for employee payroll inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing:
Process payroll for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and contract workers.
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions (e.g., tax, superannuation, and benefits).
Process adjustments for pay discrepancies, back pay, and leave balances.
Maintain and update employee records related to payroll.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and employment laws.
Prepare and submit all relevant payroll-related statutory filings (e.g., tax returns, superannuation contributions).
Provide accurate reporting to finance, HR, and other departments as required.
Prepare and distribute payslips
Data Management and Accuracy:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee hours worked, leave taken, and other payroll-related data.
Verify and reconcile timekeeping systems, ensuring accuracy of data.
Perform regular audits to identify discrepancies and correct errors.
Employee Support and Inquiries:
Respond to employee queries related to payroll, leave entitlements, deductions, and other payroll matters.
Educate employees on payroll-related policies, including tax implications, superannuation, and leave accruals.
System Maintenance and Improvements:
Assist in the maintenance and update of payroll software systems.
Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations and ensure they are reflected in payroll processes.
Confidentiality and Security:
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee payroll information.
Adhere to data protection and privacy laws when managing sensitive employee information
Qualification
Skills
Knowledge
Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a payroll processing role.
Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., SAP Chris 21)
