Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Regional Cargo team at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

  • To consult with clients on their service requirements, insurance needs and carriers, providing advice on emerging products and market conditions that impact insurance coverage.

  • To make an impact as a seasoned, professional individual contributor, ready to manage projects, work independently, help teammates thrive and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.

  • To possess a good understanding of the North Asia market conditions, nuances, accounts and clients needs and to be able to help us manage key North Asian STP programs whilst helping the team further develop MMCs proposition on that end.

We will count on you to:

  • Independently and with minimum oversight, lead offensive and defensive RFPs managing both the markets, the client and coordinating with internal stakeholders.

  • Develops an understanding of the clients’ business strategic priorities, risk strategies and risk management needs and provides advice accordingly to successfully serve clients.

  • Utilizes risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance market place to review clients’ exposures and loss experience and develop solutions for standard client needs.

  • Executes renewal/placement strategies in conjunction with the Placement, in-country Specialist colleagues and Client Executives.

  • Assists in presentations to prospective clients and develops/suggests innovative solutions to client and client team members to gain new clients and projects.

  • Partners with Placement colleagues to receive, negotiate and evaluate quotes from carriers to deliver the best options to clients.

  • Engage on white papers on risk related topics and collaborates on new strategic initiatives targeting new clients acquisition.

  • Establish new relationship with existing or new carriers enabling the team to achieve better deals for our clients.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with clients , and is the primary point of contact for day-to-day service needs.

  • Maintains quality in all areas of client deliverables, including monitoring delivery and invoicing to ensure client is satisfied.

  • Keeps abreast of changing market conditions and contributes to the firm’s body of knowledge within product line through active internal communication.

  • Good to have: experience of broking and placing Project Cargo (construction, power and energy, heavy lift) and ability to lead inquiries and advice internally.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in Marine broking or underwriting industry;

  • Proficient in PC skills, including MS Office

  • Possesses solid insurance brokerage, account management, servicing and sales skills

  • Ambitious, solution focus and with strong skills in client relationship management

  • Good command of both written and spoken English.
