Minimum requirements (must be met to be considered):
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in PLC-based industrial/process automation.
- Proficient in preparing the following documents:
- Control panel layout drawings including BOM
- Single line diagram
- Three-line diagram
- Circuit diagrams
- Loop diagrams
- Cable schedules and sizing
- IO lists
Document preparation preferred in "ePlan P8". Experience with "AutoCAD" is a plus.
- PLC system hardware configuration (selection of CPU, communication, and IO modules based on system requirements).
- Advanced PLC & HMI programming experience is a must.
- Experience with Siemens PLCs is preferred; experience with Allen Bradley is a plus.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willing to perform regular field assignments (system commissioning), with 30-50% travel.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Own the electrical and automation packages for specialized process system projects across various industries (automotive, painting, coating, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, etc.).
- Support project managers with detailed electrical and process (machine) automation knowledge as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Design control panels and circuit diagrams.
- Program PLC and HMI systems based on process descriptions.
- Review and approve electrical design documentation, specifications, and prepare RFQs; evaluate bids.
- Evaluate design calculations, specifications, and select system components, cable schedules, PLC components, and instrumentation.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, partners, vendors, and other teams for project tendering.
- Liaise with external vendors/suppliers for procurement, installation, testing (FATs), and commissioning.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning by preparing work packages and providing on-site support.
- Design equipment including control cabinets, power feeds, grounding systems, and low voltage controls.
- Oversee on-site installation and assembly of electrical systems.
- Perform on-site commissioning of PLC-based control systems and machinery.
- Manage project scheduling, costs, customer change requests, and estimate materials and labor.
- Troubleshoot and maintain equipment; support testing, debugging, and installation.
- Ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical system specifications.
- Compile reports and data on electrical engineering projects and studies.
- Prepare specifications for electrical equipment and materials procurement.
