Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is seeking qualified candidates who are highly motivated and looking for a challenging and fulfilling career as a Geriatric Psychiatrist. The successful candidate will provide geriatric and general psychiatry services, including outpatient clinics, inpatient ward management, and on-call psychiatric consultations. As SGH is an academic medical centre, there may also be opportunities to engage in research and teaching.

The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with cognitive and geriatric mental health issues, such as dementia, mild cognitive impairment, mood and anxiety disorders, and delirium. Candidates should have experience in acute psychiatric care, be capable of supervising junior doctors, and collaborate with allied health professionals within a multidisciplinary geriatric psychiatry team.

Job Requirements

• Basic medical degree with relevant postgraduate qualifications recognized by the Singapore Medical Council (e.g., MRCPsych and FRANZCP).
• Completed specialty training (i.e., obtained CCT or equivalent), and eligible for accreditation as a Psychiatry Specialist in Singapore.
• At least 2 to 3 years of post-specialist registration experience as a Geriatric Psychiatrist, providing clinical care for patients with cognitive and geriatric mental health issues.
