Summary

The Senior Product Manager for Retail Futures Brokerage will lead the development, enhancement, and lifecycle management of trading products and platforms tailored to retail clients. This role is critical in driving innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering best-in-class tools that empower traders to execute futures strategies seamlessly. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of derivatives markets with user-centric product design expertise to align business goals, technology, and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Product Strategy & Roadmap

    • Define and execute the product vision for retail futures trading platforms, tools, and services.

    • Prioritize features and enhancements based on market research, client feedback, and competitive analysis.

    • Develop a roadmap that balances innovation, compliance, and time-to-market.

  2. Client-Centric Product Design

    • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to design intuitive trading interfaces for retail clients (e.g., charting tools, order types, risk management dashboards).

    • Conduct user testing and analyze behavioral data to refine product features.

    • Address pain points in onboarding, execution, and account management workflows.

  3. Futures Product Development

    • Lead cross-functional teams (IT, compliance, marketing) to launch new futures products (e.g., micro contracts, sector-specific derivatives).

    • Partner with exchanges (CME, ICE) and liquidity providers to optimize product listings and execution.

    • Integrate advanced tools like algorithmic trading, social trading, or AI-driven analytics.

  4. Regulatory Compliance

    • Ensure all products adhere to CFTC, NFA, and exchange regulations.

    • Work with legal/compliance teams to address margin rules, disclosure requirements, and reporting obligations.

  5. Go-to-Market Execution

    • Partner with Sales and Marketing to create product launch plans, including positioning, pricing, and client education.

    • Develop training materials and demos for internal teams and clients.

    • Monitor post-launch performance and iterate based on KPIs (adoption rates, revenue, client retention).

  6. Technology Integration

    • Collaborate with IT to enhance platform scalability, security, and performance.

    • Evaluate third-party integrations (e.g., data feeds, risk engines) to enrich product offerings.

  7. Market & Competitive Intelligence

    • Track trends in retail trading (e.g., gamification, mobile-first design, fractional contracts).

    • Benchmark against competitors to identify gaps and opportunities.

  8. Stakeholder Management

    • Communicate product updates and strategic priorities to senior management, various departments, and external partners.

    • Balance competing priorities from compliance, risk, and commercial teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 10 years’ experience in product management, with 5 years focused on futures/derivatives, retail trading platforms.

  • Familiarity with trading platforms (MetaTrader, NinjaTrader, proprietary systems).

  • Understanding of APIs, FIX protocol, and market data feeds.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

  • Experience with fintech, blockchain-based derivatives or crypto futures.

  • Track record of scaling products in high-growth retail brokerage environments.
