Qualifications

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) with strong technical knowledge in plumbing and sanitary systems for building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of M&E (mechanical and electrical) construction, project cost control, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Contract:
  • Study project drawings, specifications, and scope of works to prepare accurate cost estimates and BOQs

  • Source and obtain competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers

  • Evaluate tender submissions and assist in tender clarifications

  • Participate in value engineering and cost planning exercises

Post-Contract:
  • Monitor project costs and perform regular cost reporting to management

  • Handle progress claims, variations, and final accounts with clients and subcontractors

  • Prepare and review subcontractor payment certifications and VO assessments

  • Liaise with project teams, consultants, and suppliers for commercial matters

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and industry regulations

  • Support procurement and material take-off for plumbing and sanitary items

  • Assist in resolving contractual disputes and project claims when necessary

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of QS experience in construction, with at least 2 years in plumbing and sanitary or M&E projects

  • Strong understanding of local construction codes, cost structure, and market rates

  • Familiar with tendering procedures, SMM, PSSCOC, and standard forms of contract

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software (e.g., Revit or similar)

  • Able to work independently and lead junior QS or site teams

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Education:
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or equivalent

  • Additional certification in plumbing/mechanical systems is an advantage
