The Assistant Director (Capability and Industry) crafts and implements strategies to achieve the school's desired outcomes in capability and industry engagement. This role champions staff capability development, designs industry engagement strategies, and develops the school's technology roadmap.
What you will be working on:
- Spearhead capability development initiatives within the school, identifying emerging trends, new opportunities, and forecasting IT-related capabilities, skillsets, and solution needs by industry.
- Adapt to emerging technologies and changing market landscapes to propose innovative IT solutions.
- Align departmental core competencies to develop a feasible technology roadmap aligned with the school's strategic objectives.
- Oversee the development and execution of technology projects and training courses in emerging technology domains.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams in delivering industry projects and training programs.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with industry leaders, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance visibility, build partnerships, and stay updated on industry developments.
- Contribute to designing and delivering training courses, projects, and student development activities.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the IT industry, preferably with a focus on emerging technologies such as AI.
- Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Business development skills with the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, and to plan and execute complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to influence and inspire others.
