We are seeking a detail-oriented purchasing coordinator /officer to support and manage the purchasing process.
You will be part of a purchasing team. This is a 6-months contract, convertible to a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials or parts as per project requirements / purchasing requests.
- Contact existing suppliers and vendors or connect with new suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing, including obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
- Work alongside various teams within the organization and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors (both local and overseas) and resolve any issues if there may be.
- Verify purchase orders and delivery orders from internal and external parties for accuracy in items, quantities, and amounts.
- Assist in sourcing for office / pantry supplies to maintain stock levels.
- Respond to requestor inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Ensure purchasing process according to ISO 9001/ ISO 45001 / ISO 14001, including but not limited to evaluating supplier performance, maintaining accurate records of purchases, delivery schedules, supplier details and updating the Approved Vendor List.
- Assist to check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been placed correctly and meet specifications.
Any other duties to meet organizational needs
Requirements:
- Proven experience in purchasing / procurement or similar administrative role.
- Prior knowledge / proficiency in Navision system would be an advantage, although not mandatory.
- Detail oriented, take initiative and able to work with people at all levels.
- Work experience in marine, construction or any heavy industry may be easier to adapt to but we are open to other industries too.
