Job description

What the role is:

The National Research Foundation (NRF) is a department within the Prime Minister's Office, responsible for setting the national direction for research, innovation, and enterprise (RIE). This includes developing policies, plans, and strategies; funding strategic initiatives to enhance scientific and technological capabilities; growing RIE talent; and fostering collaboration both locally and internationally.

What you will be working on:
  1. Records Management:
    • Support the Chief Records Officer in managing registry duties, including coordinating with directorates for proper and timely filing of documents in the e-Registry system.
    • Collaborate with the National Archives of Singapore and the Attorney-General’s Chambers on official document matters, including appraisal, archiving, and disposal of records.
    • Advise action officers and ensure compliance with the Instruction Manual on Management of Public Records.
  2. Travel Management:
    • Coordinate with appointed travel agents for booking air tickets, accommodation, and other services for official trips.
    • Arrange travel insurance through the designated insurance provider.
    • Activate data roaming for relevant users.
  3. Procurement Liaison:
    • Assist in evaluating procurement documents via VITAL, the Singapore Public Service’s central agency platform.
    • Initiate Approval of Requirements (AOR) and purchase orders using the Government Electronic Business System (GeBIZ).
  4. Reception and General Administration:
    • Greet visitors and manage NRF's reception area.
    • Answer calls on the general line.
    • Receive and distribute goods and mail.
    • Handle staff onboarding and exit tasks, including issuing and returning keys and equipment, and updating the telephone directory.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the National Research Foundation:

The NRF was established on 1 January 2006 as a department under the Prime Minister's Office. Its roles include providing secretariat support to the Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council (RIEC), coordinating research efforts across agencies to ensure strategic coherence, developing policies to implement the national R&D agenda, and allocating funding to meet strategic objectives.
