Job Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute trading strategies in China’s power market, including medium/long-term trading, spot trading, and ancillary service market transactions.
- Arrange customer receptions and project negotiations; prepare quotations and execute contracts.
- Analyze power market policies, price fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics to support trading decisions.
- Optimize dispatch and portfolio management of company power assets (e.g., PV, wind, thermal power).
- Liaise with grid companies, generation groups, and large consumers to expand trading channels and maintain client relationships.
- Monitor trading risks, ensure compliance, and regularly submit trading reports and profit analyses.
- Participate in research on power market reforms and explore innovative initiatives like green power trading and carbon-electricity market linkage.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, Finance, or related fields.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of power trading experience in China, with familiarity in provincial trading rules (e.g., Guangdong/Shanxi spot pilot markets).
- Prior experience in generation groups, electricity retailers, or renewable energy trading roles preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in power trading platforms (e.g., Beijing/Guangzhou Power Exchange).
- Knowledge of price forecasting models or quantitative tools (Python/Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong data analysis and risk management capabilities.
- Additional Requirements:
- Policy-sensitive with awareness of market reforms (e.g., spot markets, capacity pricing mechanisms).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stress resilience for high-frequency trading environments.
