JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

Summary/Objective: The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the traffic shipping to customers on time, including material receiving, stock, pulling & issuing and stocktaking (discrepancy analysis and drive improvement), finished goods on-time-delivery with consistent trade compliance.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to manage, lead and supervise a team to achieve the organizational objectives.
  • Be the area owner and accountable for the area / department performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Maintain excellent interdepartmental communications, including with manufacturing, compliance, logistics, supply chain, and global inventory and traffic teams.
  • Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding vendors, products, deliveries, etc.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Issue written and oral instructions.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve storage, workflow, and efficiency of workers.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Interview and hire new employees.
  • Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.

The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities.


Required Experience:
  • 7+ Years’ Experience in inventory or logistic is preferred
  • Must be able to do multiple things simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
  • Communication and Organizational skills are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to learn new systems quickly as this position will be using home-grown systems to perform daily tasks and duties.
  • Must be customer service oriented and have attention to detail.

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business or a related field.
  • On-the-job experience can replace or supplement educational requirements.
