Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (Tenure-track) in Biomedicine and Drug-Body Interactions
The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), College of Science (CoS) at NTU in Singapore invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with a research focus in Biomedicine and Drug-Body Interactions.
Research at SBS covers a broad range of topics in biological and biomedical sciences, including cancer and cell biology, microbiology and immunology, genetics and genomics, infectious diseases, proteins and proteomics, structural biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, drug discovery, plant biology, and biological data science. Our investigator-led projects offer many opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations within the school and with other university departments. SBS provides cutting-edge infrastructures, such as structural biology and biophysics facilities (Titan Krios Cryo-EM, Rigaku FRX X-ray generator, BLI, ITC), confocal microscopy, proteomics facilities, and a modern computer cluster. The successful candidate will have access to other state-of-the-art facilities on campus and opportunities for collaboration with other schools and research institutes.
Requirements:
We seek individuals with a well-defined research vision and an outstanding publication record. The candidate should be able to establish and maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring.
Candidates with a chemistry background and experience in translating basic biomedical research into drug discovery are especially encouraged to apply. Relevant research areas include medicinal chemistry, molecular pharmacology, chemical biology, pharmaceutical biotechnology, or related disciplines. The candidate should lead research programs employing techniques from these disciplines to discover novel molecular entities such as enzyme inhibitors, receptor agonists/antagonists, PPI inhibitors, molecular glues, or protein degraders for disease intervention.
Applicants should have a strong research productivity record, a well-developed research plan, and potential or history of securing external grants. The candidate will contribute to the academic community through collaboration and service. Excellence in teaching in chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, or molecular pharmacology is also expected, including both foundational and advanced undergraduate courses and graduate courses in biology.
