Ngiam Family Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chinese Studies
The Ngiam Family Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chinese Studies, established in 2024, provides an opportunity for early career scholars to conduct postdoctoral studies in the field of Chinese Studies at the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CoHASS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore). The inaugural Ngiam Family Postdoctoral Fellowship (2025-2027) will be awarded to support and develop pioneering work in Chinese visual and performance culture, heritage and/or digital humanities. This will be a one-year appointment, renewable for a second year upon successful review.
The Ngiam Family Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chinese Studies is supported by a generous endowment from Mr Ngiam Tong Yuen and his family.
Key Responsibilities:
Pursue and develop advanced research into Chinese visual and performance culture, heritage and/or digital humanities.
Work towards a significant publication, exhibition, or performance
Foster relationships with research communities in Singapore, China and elsewhere.
Job Requirements:
PhD in a relevant discipline.
Excellent research and publication record in Chinese visual and performance culture, heritage and/or digital humanities.
Excellent communication and writing skills
Proficiency in Chinese communication and writing would be advantageous, as the source materials are in Chinese.
