Junior Medical Technologist (GOVT/West) - Office Hours/Entry Level #HAO
Salary: up to $3200
Working Days & Hours: Mon-Fri office hours
Location: Kent Ridge
Job Description:
To carry out Paediatric Urology investigations and Paediatric Surgery Outpatient Day Procedures.
Paediatric Urology Investigations include:
Simple Urodynamics Study with or without Sedation
Complex Urodynamics Study (including Video UDS, EMG) with or without sedation
Uroflow studies
Residual Urine Measurement
Biofeedback Therapy
4 Hour Voiding Observation
Stool Management Programme
Urotherapy
Paediatric Surgery Outpatient Day Procedures include:
Change of Gastrostomy tube/button
Rectal washout
Clean Intermittent Catheterisation (CIC)
To perform charging for the above-mentioned investigations immediately, post procedures.
To schedule for sedation team and/or anaesthetic team support for above-mentioned investigations and procedures that may require sedation or general anaesthesia as requested by team doctors.
To schedule, actualise and perform charging of patient’s admission before and after Urodynamics Study and/or other procedures requiring admission.
To check and calibrate equipment and instruments to ensure that they are in good working condition.
To set up the machine for above-mentioned investigations/procedures when required.
To perform Uroflowmetry studies and Residual Urine measurements as requested by doctors according to hospital standards of operation.
To provide appropriate instructions to patients for follow-up review/procedures at Specialist Clinic.
To provide patients/family members with information regarding above-mentioned investigations and procedures.
To compile the data generated from the studies into the computer and report results for doctors to verify.
To ensure reports are ready for dispatch to clinics/wards within stipulated time frame.
To be responsible for proper filing of patients’ reports for easy retrieval.
To ensure appropriate and timely electronic documentation of investigations and procedures.
To educate and instruct patients and families on filling up Bedwetting Questionnaire, Bladder Diary, and measurements of urine and spillage.
To demonstrate proper and economical usage of consumables and supplies.
To ensure that stock level on supplies and consumables are adequately maintained and replenished.
To maintain and demonstrate proper use and care of equipment.
To maintain a clean and safe work environment.
To attend to patients’ feedback/enquiry, perform service recovery and provide information when appropriate.
To be responsible for Paediatric Surgery Urology Hotline for communication with patients/parents and colleagues.
To attend to telephone enquiries/calls and trace results when requested.
To participate in service quality/improvement activities/program.
To assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor(s).
Job Requirements: Min Diploma in Science or similar
