About the Role
The Senior Director of Strategic Procurement provides leadership to subordinate managers and professional staff who support Strategic Procurement assessment, management, and improvement solutions. The role is responsible for establishing procurement program objectives, strategies, and plans, as well as for managing strategic relationships, providing thought leadership and working across the company to increase productivity and reduce costs. The position includes working with executive leaders and other internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives and deliver process excellence. In addition, this role leads a team that is responsible for designing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives and allocating resources to achieve goals.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct and ongoing strategic leadership for a team of multiple subordinate managers and high-level individual contributors driving strategic procurement assessment, management and improvement solutions.
  • Sets overall program initiatives, manages and allocates financial and human capital for programs and projects, and ensures timely and effective delivery of supply chain programs.
  • Develops and leads planning, design, implementation, communication and delivery of the company's procurement and/or logistics initiatives across a large business group or region(s).
  • Provides procurement leadership for all phases of the sourcing process; leads change on procurement initiatives that have an enterprise impact.
  • Develops strategies to provide the highest quality at the lowest negotiated cost to the business units.
  • Actively partners with and influences internal and external stakeholders and/or suppliers at the executive level on a regular basis; leads objective and effective contract negotiations in collaboration with key internal stakeholders and the legal department.
  • Drives multi-year strategies and initiatives at the regional/global/business group level by exercising governance oversight in one or more areas (e.g., key policy decisions, resolution of high impact issues. etc.).
  • Manages and develops the talent in the procurement organization, and advises on organization design.
  • Performs the responsibilities of performance management, talent management and succession planning, ensuring that the appropriate tools and processes are in place to support the team.

Education & Experience Recommended
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 15+ years of job-related and/or management experience, preferably in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
