As a Head of Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Specialized Patient Care: Manage complex cases in specialized areas such as orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, musculoskeletal, women's health, and pediatrics.
Advanced Assessment & Treatment: Conduct detailed assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to restore mobility and function.
Independent Practice: Serve as a first-line practitioner for walk-in patients in specialized areas, demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
Service Planning & Implementation: Initiate and oversee the planning, implementation, and execution of new services and initiatives within the physiotherapy department.
Resource Management: Plan and allocate manpower resources based on departmental needs, ensuring optimal coverage and efficiency.
Policy Development: Propose and formalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies in line with new developments and best practices.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain departmental and hospital Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring compliance with hospital policies and standards.
Supervision & Mentorship: Provide supervision, coaching, and mentorship to junior staff, fostering professional growth and adherence to best practices.
Training Needs Assessment: Identify and plan the training needs of the team, facilitating continuous professional development.
Team Development: Set directions for sub-team development, considering SWOT analysis and aligning with the department's strategic goals.
Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and allied health staff, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with community stakeholders, including General Practitioners and Voluntary Welfare Organisations, to extend care beyond the hospital setting.
Public Relations: Handle patient feedback and media inquiries, representing the physiotherapy department in a professional manner.
Service Model Development: Lead the design and development of new and emerging service models to meet population health needs and future demands.
Research & Evidence-Based Practice: Demonstrate research and literature critique skills, applying evidence-based practices to clinical decision-making.
Policy Influence: Influence policy and decision-making within broad networks and partnerships at the institutional, cluster, and national levels.
Job Requirements
At least a Degree in Physiotherapy
Possess a valid full registration with Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC)
