The Scientific Compliance Officer will support the planning and administration of various scientific compliance and risk management activities, including business continuity management in accordance with A*STAR’s policies, procedures and guidelines. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the organisation adheres to relevant regulations and policies, while contributing to the continuous improvement of operational processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in Publication Compliance:
- Help ensure publication-related compliance; communicate policies regarding publication declarations to staff and ensure that all associated A*SRL Publication Forms and A*STAR Publication Forms have been submitted.
- Support the organisation in ensuring compliance with data management policies.
- Help ensure compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act:
- Assist with the upkeep of the institute’s PD inventory, registers with input from PIs and Dept Leads.
- Track and ensure validity of training records to maintain compliance with PDPA.
- Advocate for PDPA compliance across the organisation and provide advice on PDPA-related matters.
- Assist with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) & Advisory Council (AC) Responsibilities:
- Assist in the identification and evaluation of institutional risks, contributing to the development of risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- Contribute to the preparation and documentation of risk assessments and action plans to ensure a proactive approach to risk management.
- Support Business Continuity Management (BCM) efforts:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of business continuity strategies to ensure minimal disruption in case of unforeseen events or emergencies.
- Assist in documenting overview of institutional business impact analyses and continuity planning efforts.
- Contribute to management reporting:
- Management Reports: Corral information and draft management reports.
- Meetings and Events: Coordinate and assist with the scheduling and logistics of Townhalls, Principal Investigator (PI) meetings, and other key internal events.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biological, biomedical or health sciences.
- Knowledge and experience in research compliance, data management, risk management, or business continuity is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of PDPA and data protection regulations, with experience in supporting compliance efforts.
- Hands-on experience in research a definite advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly and concisely express technical and non-technical information to all levels of the organisation.
- Collaborative approach with good interpersonal and project management skills.
- Quick, meticulous, resourceful and creative problem-solver who works well under pressure, uses sound judgment and demonstrates initiative in carrying out assigned duties.
- Strong adaptability, and organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing priorities and demands in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to meet deadlines.
- A flair for establishing workflows and processes.
- Proficient in using technology and Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint, to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
