Methodist Welfare Services is seeking a Manager for Finance & Admin at ACS Academy, Singapore's fifth special education school. The role involves overseeing financial and administrative functions, ensuring compliance with policies, and leading a team to promote service excellence. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Finance, CPA certification, and at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an educational setting.
ACS Academy, established in partnership with Methodist Welfare Services, is Singapore’s fifth special education (SPED) school dedicated to supporting students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and who have no intellectual impairment and can access the National Curriculum (NC), also known as the ASD-NC student profile. As the first Methodist SPED school in Singapore, ACS Academy will provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment grounded in Christian values, upholding the traditions of the ACS family while delivering a holistic education that fosters academic excellence, character development, and essential life skills for future success, instilling in students a heart for service and a commitment to contributing meaningfully to the community and beyond.
As the Manager, Finance & Admin, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our institution. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing administrative and financial functions, ensuring compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements. You will manage budget planning, financial reporting and procurement processes. Additionally, you will lead the front office team to promote a culture of service excellence and maintain efficient administrative processes. Your expertise will support school leadership in strategic planning and policy implementation, contributing to the overall success of the ACS Academy.
Job Description:
Oversee both administrative and financial functions to ensure efficient school operations
Develop and manage budget planning, financial reporting and procurement processes in compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with MOE guidelines and financial governance policies
Prepare and update manuals and other materials describing procedures and standards for the administration and finance functions of the school on a regular basis
Manage the school’s general office administration and day-to-day operations, ensuring business continuity during sudden or gradual disruptions
Lead the admin team through promoting a culture of service excellence and growth
Lead and manage the finance & admin teams to ensure sound and efficient administrative and financial processes with good corporate governance
Liaise with external stakeholders, such as auditors, vendors and government agencies
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments and reimbursements
Check, approve and submit complete and accurate financial statements and reports
Approve staff reimbursements for budgeted and approved expenditure
Maintain accurate financial records and administrative workflows
Support school leadership in strategic planning and financial policy implementation
Account and Finance Matters
Assists in the preparation of the Annual Budget
Reviews and checks on all the claims and invoices before sending for approval
Acknowledge donations of cash and donations-in-kind
Check and authorize aging reports
Check and authorize Purchase Orders
Check and authorize Staff or Petty claimer’s invoice, payment voucher, GIRO and other payments before approval
Review and check on Fixed Assets Tagging
Review and check on school fees payment collection
Check all journal entries before posting into the accounting system
Monthly update of outstanding PO/PR to the Principal
Job Requirements:
Recognized degree in Finance and preferably be CPA certified
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a management or leadership capacity
preferably in an educational setting
Proficient in financial management software systems
Possess strong planning, organization implementation, analytical and follow-up skills
Meticulous with an eye for details
Possess a high level of initiative and a good team player
Proficient in written and verbal communication
Excellent interpersonal skills
