A leading company in recycling seeks a Business Development Manager to drive growth initiatives. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and increasing revenue through strategic partnerships. We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives for our recycling manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and increasing revenue through strategic partnerships, contract negotiations, and market expansion.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the recycling or waste management sector, with strong knowledge of B2B sales, supply chain logistics, sustainability trends, and environmental compliance.
Ø Identify and develop new business opportunities in the recycling manufacturing space (e.g., sourcing recyclable materials, establishing new offtake markets).
Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, clients, municipalities, industrial partners, and regulatory agencies.
Ø Lead end-to-end sales processes including lead generation, proposals, contract negotiation, and closing deals.
Ø Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and policy developments affecting recycling and sustainability.
Ø Collaborate with operations, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure project feasibility and delivery.
Ø Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand customer base.
Ø Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company's capabilities and services.
Ø Prepare regular reports on market performance, business opportunities, and pipeline progress for senior leadership.
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
Ø Minimum of 5 years of business development or sales experience, preferably in recycling, manufacturing, or waste management.
Ø Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
Ø Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Ø Ability to analyze market data and turn insights into actionable strategies.
Ø Familiarity with environmental regulations, recycling standards, and circular economy practices.
Ø Willingness to travel as needed.
Ø Knowledge of secondary raw materials, commodity pricing, and material recovery facilities (MRFs).
Ø Existing network within waste management companies, sustainability-focused organizations, or government recycling programs.
Ø Experience managing RFPs or government procurement processes.
