Job description

What the role is:

You will develop MINDEF/SAF’s Strategic Communications (SC) policies, strategies, and plans to deepen understanding and safeguard public commitment to defence. Your role will help build trust and confidence in MINDEF/SAF, enhance our international standing, and maintain support for National Service (NS).

What you will be working on:

- Develop and integrate Strategic Communications policies and strategies.
- Analyse trends and advise on Strategic Communications policy and strategy.
- Maintain an understanding of public sentiments and align MINDEF/SAF’s narrative with national-level messages.
- Drive the development of the MINDEF/SAF Strategy and Plans Information Hub.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct information exercises.
- Utilise multiple sources to interpret changes in the information environment.
- Develop clear, actionable plans and policies.

What we are looking for:

- Degree in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- At least 2 years of experience in communications (applicants with no experience may also apply).
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good understanding of Singapore's media landscape.
- Knowledge of Singapore’s media, political, defence, and security developments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
- Appointment will be commensurate with experience.
