Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide vision and technical leadership for Algorithm and AI development, image processing, testing, Data Ops, and ML DevOps.
2. Lead a team focused on development and innovation for scientific instrumentation and applications.
3. Guide your team to establish operational processes, define goals, and success metrics.
4. Establish productive collaboration with teams across sites and functions, including Software, Systems, Optical Engineers, Bench Scientists, Product and Program Managers, and Customer Support Teams.

Minimum Qualifications

1. 3+ years of experience leading Algorithm and AI development for scientific applications.
2. 3+ years of direct experience in Software and Algorithm development for scientific applications and instruments.
3. Experience in driving multi-functional product development lifecycle, including algorithm design, implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation.
4. Strong technical and leadership skills.
5. Proficiency in Python and Linux; proficiency in C++ or Java is highly preferred. Experience with AWS technology stack is required.
6. Experience with regulated software projects (e.g., HIPAA, FDA GMP) is advantageous.
7. Effective communication skills, especially for presenting scientific results, maintaining records, and working in a distributed team of scientists.
8. Excellent programming skills in Python and R.
9. Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, LLM frameworks, Computer Vision, NLP).
10. Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, MLOps, and LLMOps techniques.
11. Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
