As a QC Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of QC Lab associates from the Finished Production Inspection team to perform inspection and testing of products to meet quality standards according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), as well as any applicable federal regulations or industry standards. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Monitoring Product Quality Compliance:
- Comply with Quality and HSE procedures when carrying out sampling, QC tests, and release.
- Establish SOPs and conditions for handling, storage, and preservation of samples for testing.
- Issue, conduct NCR and OOS investigations as a certified investigator, identify root causes, and determine appropriate CAPA. Ensure all TW records are closed timely.
- Analyze testing results and the frequency and severity of product defects and quality lapses.
- Approve testing documentation and test records.
- Guide testing activities to ensure correct procedures, conditions, and processes are used.
- Manage Laboratory Operations:
- Maintain integrity, accuracy, and completeness of QC data and records.
- Meet quality objectives set by management and comply with Alcon, QMS, and Safety requirements.
- Provide direction and supervision to direct reports. Conduct career dialogues and follow up on individual development plans. Ensure backups for all roles and responsibilities.
- Plan, lead, and control all quality inspection and testing activities in compliance with local SOP, Alcon standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Trend, analyze, and monitor key performance indicators to ensure operational effectiveness and execute improvement opportunities.
- Implement changes including GCM change requests, SOP revisions, impact assessments, and go-live plans.
- Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Support internal and external audits and be responsible for closing audit findings.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure operational continuity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the QC Lab Manager.
- Ensure Quality and HSE compliance as per Alcon guidelines:
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Ensure zero HSE incidents.
- Act as Support Auditor for cross-functional audits as required.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Degree in Chemistry or related science or engineering field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a quality control lab within the pharma/medical industry.
- Supervisory experience overseeing technicians/inspectors.
- Transport provided from Boon Lay, Outram Park, and Kranji MRT stations.
