Job description for General Manager

1. Business Development & Strategic Planning

  • Accountable for developing and executing a strategic plan to significantly grow the business, delivering tangible and measurable outcomes in line with the company's overall objectives.

  • Drive the business strategies towards growth and profitability, with complete P&L responsibilities.

  • Develop sales team to meet challenging sales targets, and to monitor and drive the performance of the sales team.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and stay informed of the industry trends.

  • Uphold a positive brand image and reputation.

  • Demonstrate excellent skills at negotiating business deals including license deals, agreements, term sheets, and other business collaboration.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.

2. Operation Excellence & Leadership

  • Oversee research and development programs, pilot testing with different research institutes, represent Company to determine detailed product structures, product planning, development progress, production costs that aligns with the brand positioning.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Implement process improvements as necessary.

  • Foster a positive, caring and teaming work environment, emphasizing safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Inspire, mentor, and guide the team to achieve their full potential.

Job Requirements:

  • More than 10 years of working experience in sales/business development experience in water/wastewater treatment or chemical industry, especially in a leadership or managerial capacity.

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.

  • Proven ability to position products against competitors.

  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions.

  • Possess initiative, drive and able to work independently and result-oriented.

  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards related to membrane technology and filtration processes. Ability to discern industry needs and trends, particularly in Pharmaceutical, Dairy and Chemicals industries.

  • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders across academia, institutional research, and industry.

  • Team player with strong integrity and accountability mindset entrepreneurial-minded.

  • Willing and able to travel.
