Job description

Through philanthropic endowments gifted by Temasek and managed by Temasek Trust, Temasek Foundation's programmes strive towards achieving positive outcomes for individuals and communities now, and for generations.

The Strategy and Impact team reports directly to the CEO and leads the development of Temasek Foundation’s overall impact strategy, which will guide the Foundation’s work in the long term. The Strategy & Impact team works closely with internal and external stakeholders on matters pertaining to strategic planning, research and trend analysis, and impact and outcome measurement of programmes for collective impact and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and implement impact measurement frameworks. This includes designing and implementing systems to track and measure programmes' and initiatives' social, environmental, and economic impact.
  • Evaluate programme effectiveness. Assess the impact of programmes by comparing outcomes to intended goals and using theory-informed estimations or approaches and tools, e.g. Theory-of-Change, logic model and indicators, with reference to UN Sustainable Development Goals, etc.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement.Identify areas where programmes can be improved and provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis
  • Collect, analyse and report data. Gather data from various sources, including surveys, interviews, and existing records, and analyse it using statistical and qualitative methods.
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders. Engage, negotiate, and liaise with stakeholders within the broader Temasek ecosystem on developing and implementing impact initiatives, including presentations and materials. Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate impact measurement findings to internal and external audiences.
  • Support Board and management decision making as a bridge between the Management team, internal stakeholders, and colleagues, and to drive the agenda for Board and Management meetings.
  • Stay updated on best practices. Keep abreast of current trends and best practices in impact measurement and reporting, thus continually sharpen and update the Foundation’s Impact Strategy to remain relevant
  • The Role includes, but is not limited to, the above and will undertake any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Supervisor.

Skills that will be useful for this Role:

  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills. Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Understanding of evaluation methodologies. Familiarity with various evaluation approaches, such as theory-of-change assessments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate complex data and findings in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements

  • Degree holder from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in any relevant discipline.
  • Relevant skills and experience in strategic planning and policy development, impact management, consultancy; possesses excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail balanced with timely execution.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, agile individuals who are adaptable to working in a dynamic environment, with proven ability to present and communicate clearly to senior management.
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship skills, proven ability to manage multiple priorities, and ability to work with and across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, To Do etc.), Salesforce, and exposure to open-source visual software.
  • Relevant experience or strong interest in the philanthropy sector, corporate social responsibility, community and social development is favoured.
