Regional Sales Manager - Cutting Tools (Based in Indonesia)

Job Description:

Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of cutting tools for the engineering industry, including drilling, milling, threading, and turning tools. They are looking for a Regional Sales Manager based in Indonesia, with the following qualifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop & implement sales strategy to achieve the organization’s short- and long-term sales goals across Asia.
  • Accountable for driving and executing all aspects of company sales performance through channels within an assigned geographical territory.
  • Manage a team and actively engage in the field with salespeople and customers to achieve established sales goals.
  • Liaise with senior management to set forecasts, budgets, and targets while supporting high-level sales cluster business objectives.
  • Ensure strong financial discipline within the territory, balancing sales results and managing Administrative and Sales (A&S) expenses.
  • Ensure attainment of the budgeted sales value, volume, and/or profitability from the channels/distributors.
  • Develop and implement local strategy and execute marketing plans to achieve company goals.
  • Streamline local processes as per global strategy.
  • Stay informed of customer needs and concerns regarding price, delivery, and product offerings.
  • Manage sales channel strategy and develop business relations with channel partners.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of actions necessary to meet competitive activity.
  • Develop a long-term vision for company sales across Asia.

People Management:

  • Manage direct reports' performance and results.
  • Ensure proper onboarding, training, motivation, and rewards for new or promoted direct reports.
  • Establish overall market budget and cascade individual goals; monitor results and provide feedback.
  • Coach and provide on-the-job training and development.
  • Implement improvements and development within the organization.
  • Develop talents with a focus on results.
  • Cultivate an environment that encourages productivity and independence while promoting the brand.

Other Management:

  • Provide senior management with accurate and timely market information regarding customers, distributors, and competitors.
  • Drive and apply Company Core Values and Code of Conduct in all dealings; promote a safety-first culture.

Experience and Required Competencies:

  • Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience in engineering cutting tools; skills and knowledge are a must.
  • Proven track record in delivering strong business results.
  • Successful experience in negotiating commercial terms.
  • Ability to lead and develop business and people in line with Company Leadership Model and Core Values.
  • Capability in performance management and accountability.
  • Expertise in building talent, team development, change leadership, and resource optimization.
  • Strong strategic and execution capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
