Job description

What the role is:

The Senior Manager / Manager, Assurance & Risk, provides independent oversight on the governance and control activities of the business units and proposes improvements to ensure compliance with corporate service policies and regulations. This is an individual contributor position without supervisory responsibilities.

What you will be working on:

  1. Implementation of VITAL’s Compliance and Risk Management Framework
  2. Collaborate with business units to implement the enterprise risk management strategy
  3. Lead or participate in compliance reviews to ensure adherence to operational procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
  4. Conduct independent compliance risk reviews and evaluate internal controls and governance processes
  5. Analyze compliance and risk issues, providing recommendations and following up on corrective actions
  6. Perform IT system access rights management reviews
  7. Assist in investigations of specific concerns, including initial fraud investigations
  8. Report compliance and risk issues to management
  9. Participate in process improvement projects with business units
  10. Provide guidance on governance, risk management, audit, and compliance matters

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience managing compliance, risk, and audit activities in a corporate or audit environment
  • Data analytics experience and knowledge of public sector practices are advantages
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Organized, meticulous, and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
