Overall Duties & Responsibilities

You will report to the Merchandising Manager. You manage the product category under your care, implements merchandising plans, product category strategies and manages internal and external partner relationships. You are responsible for ensuring procurement of the category is done within allocated OTB and sales budget.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for product categories allocated,for examples, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children or Young Adult etc.
  • Update monthly sell through analysis report, monitor stocks inventory, replenishment and stock aging.
  • Analyse cost of category merchandising.
  • Organise relevant information for negotiation with business partners.
  • Liaise with suppliers on promotional activities and prompt delivery of stocks.
  • Provide feedback on quality and effectiveness of partnership.
  • Source for products.
  • Assist with merchandising related administrative duties.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure that Company's merchandising standards are met.
  • Assist in major Fairs, Campaigns and Events.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business related discipline or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years in of relevant experience in similar capacity and with proven track record of category management in retail.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs, knowledge in SAP is an added advantage.
  • Possess good command of English language, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated detail-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapid changes, and work with a tight timeline.
