Job description

Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC)

- Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety & Health Act and related regulations.

- Promote safe work practices within the worksite.

- Promote good safety and health practices among staff.

- Familiarize with the Main Contractor’s Safety Management System.

- Inspect and rectify any EHSS non-compliance issues at the site.

- Ensure in-house safety, health, and security rules are followed by all workers on site.

- Conduct weekly EHSS promotional activities and toolbox meetings with the team.

- Maintain and submit administrative records and documents (e.g., PPE, PTW, Security Pass Applications, SWP, Risk Assessment).

- Conduct in-house safety training, including special skills like SDS, manual handling, if required.

- Alert team members to emergency situations and potential incidents.

- Support WSH programmes through various initiatives.

- Conduct safety inductions and orientations for new staff and workers.

Environmental Control Officer (ECO)

- Prepare and submit a Site Environmental Control Programme three weeks before work starts.

- Inspect the site to ensure environmental health facilities and equipment are in proper condition.

- Identify and discuss environmental irregularities such as breeding sites, pollution, poor housekeeping, etc., and recommend corrective measures.

- Address feedback and inform the occupier of irregularities.

- Submit monthly Site Environmental Control Reports.

- Assist investigations into outbreaks of infectious or vector-borne diseases.

- Organize campaigns and training to promote environmental health standards among workers.

- Introduce environmental awareness to all site workers and staff.

- Advise the occupier on necessary environmental health measures and report potential problems such as pests, waste disposal, pollution, and sanitation issues.

Earth Control Measures Officer (ECMO)

- Implement the Earth Control Measure (ECM) Plan as per QECP’s design.

- Lead the project team to achieve environmental impact mitigation, including noise, biodiversity, air quality, waste, and land contamination.

- Collaborate with the QECP and stakeholders on earth control measures.

- Develop and maintain a maintenance and inspection program for earth control measures.

- Report irregularities to the QECP for plan enhancement or redesign.

- Manage feedback and resolve issues with relevant parties.

Requirements:

- Diploma or Degree in Safety, Health, and Environment or related field.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, specifically building projects.

- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM.

- Recognized ECO and ECMO licenses are a plus.
