Sofitel Singapore City Centre, an iconic hotel which opens in October 2017 will form part of a mixed-use development at Tanjong Pagar Centre, a multi-billion dollar development, which will become Singapore’s tallest building at 290 meters set around landscaped parkland and direct MRT station access.

The 223-room Sofitel Singapore City Centre will offer chic designed rooms, 4 Food and Beverage options, a ballroom, and several meeting rooms, fitness and pool facilities.


Job Description

Job Description:

  1. Conduct daily accounting operations.
  2. Perform bank reconciliation and month-end reconciliation of all general ledger balances.
  3. Prepare the trial balance and financial reports.
  4. Review and analyze all accounts before issuing final monthly financial statements.
  5. Responsible for preparation of the various monthly reports as required by Management.
  6. Ensure that sub-ledgers and supporting evidence are in order and properly maintained to support the General Ledger.
  7. Manage prepaid and accrued expense monthly allocations as well as other allocated expense calculations and make sure that they are properly accounted for.
  8. Review and check payment documents prepared by Accounts Payable Executive.
  9. Ensure all invoices are being posted to accounting systems on a timely basis.
  10. Oversee and manage Accounts Executive in the performance of accounting tasks.
  11. Ensure GST reconciliations are duly performed and submitted to Owners on a timely basis every quarter.
  12. Assist in Fixed Assets recording, disposal and tagging where applicable.
  13. Follow all hotel policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain close communication with the public auditors and communicate instructions for the preparation of internal and external audits, preparing all necessary data and documents, in conjunction with the Director of Finance.
  15. Maintain a working knowledge of the accounting regulations of the region where the hotel is located.
  16. Ensure that all tax matters are treated in a proper manner and in compliance with related legislation.
  17. Perform other accounting tasks that are required by Finance Manager and/or Director of Finance.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant field.
  2. Degree or Diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance or Hospitality.
  3. Excellent knowledge of hotel accounting software SUN and good knowledge in Opera, Fidelio, Material Control and Micros POS.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, confident, approachable, patient with excellent communication skills.
  5. Ability to study, analyze and interpret financial information with a strong understanding of overall hotel operations.

Additional Information

Additional Requirements:

  1. Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably including 5 star experience.
  2. Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills.
  3. Desire and ability to train and develop ambassador.
  4. Multi-lingual, English essential.
  5. Maintains awareness of industry trends in service, product and presentation.
  6. Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily.
  7. Organises time and work efficiently.
  8. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Appreciates and maintains an effective outlet for stress.
  10. Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as part of the job role.
  11. Has the aptitude and willingness to undertake further development with Sofitel.
