DESIGNATION: Assistant Manager, Guest Relations

RESPONSIBILITIES

OUE Restaurants has launched an exciting nightlife and culinary destination in Q4 2023, and we are building a team of like-minded individuals who believe in creating experiences and meaningful connections. Located in the heart of Singapore's Central Business District and perched atop one of the city's iconic skyscrapers, the venue will feature 2 concepts across 3 levels, operating from lunchtime till late night.

Your role involves ensuring smooth operation of the dining club through management of daily duties, developing business objectives to maximize profitability, and enhancing our patrons' dining experience.

You will work with a team to develop an enriching and exciting environment, aiming to position and maintain the dining club as a premier nightlife and culinary destination.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager will focus on operational responsibilities, including daily operations, staff motivation, and ensuring guests receive exceptional service. You must ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, and safety standards, conduct daily briefings with a focus on training, and handle non-operational duties such as staff scheduling, inventory management, cashiering, loss prevention, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills, can lead and manage teams confidently, demonstrates care for stakeholders, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrive punctually, dressed neatly.
  • Build and motivate an efficient team, ensuring good communication.
  • Maintain a sober and orderly demeanor, cooperate with colleagues.
  • Ensure high standards of food, beverage, and entertainment service.
  • Understand and contribute to the dining club's concept, marketing, and entertainment.
  • Maintain quality standards for food and beverage service, aiming for a five-star level.
  • Develop and maintain guest relations, including building a customer database.
  • Train staff to uphold service standards.
  • Enforce company regulations, control procedures, and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and interiors.
  • Oversee staff appearance and discipline.
  • Conduct daily staff briefings on promotions, menu updates, and news.
  • Handle guest complaints promptly and report issues.
  • Suggest improvements in service methodology, equipment, or staffing.
  • Attend management meetings and coordinate with other departments.
  • Participate in personal development and training programs.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring proper execution.
  • Act as Duty Manager when scheduled, with full operational responsibility.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of food, beverage, and restaurant operations.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong organizational and management skills with a professional customer service approach.
  • Tertiary qualifications preferred; practical experience and education considered.
  • Ability to perform all restaurant functions when required.
