Job Description

The School Nurse will provide a clinically effective and high-quality nursing care and welfare service to students, as well as first aid care to all members of the school community as required. The School Nurse will adopt a holistic approach to children's care, including health promotion, assessment, and treatment of illnesses and injuries.

Responsibilities include:

1. Attending to children's injuries and illnesses, and assisting in managing outbreak cases such as hand, foot, and mouth disease.
2. Assisting in daily temperature checks for children.
3. Providing first aid, emergency care, and treatment as needed.
4. Offering confidential counseling and health advice services.
5. Developing and documenting care plans for children with specific health conditions (e.g., asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, anaphylaxis).
6. Leading procedures for controlling infectious diseases.
7. Administering medications per protocol and maintaining accurate dispensing records.
8. Managing stock in the treatment room and ensuring hygiene and tidiness.
9. Following procedures for safe disposal of clinical waste.
10. Promoting health education and providing access to health-related publicity materials.
11. Providing health advice for staff organizing trips.
12. Maintaining all medical records accurately, confidentially, and securely.
13. Keeping records of all reported accidents at the school.
14. Performing other duties related to the role of School Nurse.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.
• State-registered nurse with Singapore Nursing Board preferred.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Computer literacy.
• Experience in a school environment is an advantage.
