Position Overview:
Be the People Partner Driving Hospitality Excellence
Are you passionate about people, strategy, and service? Join our dynamic 5-star lifestyle hotel as an Assistant Manager – Human Capital, where you’ll play a key role in shaping employee experience, performance culture, and organizational effectiveness.
As a true generalist, you'll wear multiple hats—from talent acquisition and employee relations to compensation, benefits, and compliance—supporting the full spectrum of HR operations and partnering closely with department leaders to deliver people solutions that elevate our guest promise.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations, Compliance & Insurance
Ensure recruitment, salary, and promotion practices align with approved job bands and compensation policies
Maintain accurate HR records and systems
Oversee the HR system (attending to glitches and annual migration)
Ensuring timely reporting on manpower, turnover and forecast, HR KPIs and related reports
Manage work injury compensation processes, including timely reporting, documentation, and coordination with insurers and MOM
Oversee employee insurance coverage, monitor accurate administration, payment and paperwork
Support the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and SOPs, ensuring compliance with employment legislation
Approve part-time and overtime requests, and manage staff movements in alignment with labor regulations
Working with Finance payroll on accurate calculations of AWS, CVP, AI, Ex-Gratia, final payment etc.
Performance Management & Development
Coordinate the annual appraisal cycle and confirmation assessments
Partner with HODs to create individual performance plans, identify high-potential talents, and working with the L&D team member to recommend career development programs
Assist in preparing the HR budget and manpower forecast monthly and annually
Employee Engagement & Relations
Serve as a key contact for employee counselling, welfare, and workplace issues
Lead disciplinary processes (e.g., Board of Inquiry)
Support employee communication efforts and maintain updated notice boards, internal memos, and feedback platforms
Oversee staff welfare initiatives (housing, insurance, medical, recreation, dining area, etc.) to promote a healthy work environment
Data & Strategic HR Support
Compile and present HR reports (manpower, labor cost, insurance, surveys) for management decision-making
Contribute to succession planning and retention strategies with senior leadership
Stay connected to external HR networks for benchmarking and best practices
Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline. Knowledge in Korn Ferry Leadership Architect is an added advantage
A people-centric HR professional with at least 5 to 7 years of experience in a generalist role, preferably in hospitality or service sectors
Strong knowledge of Singapore labor laws, MOM regulations, Employment Act, Workman Compensation, Employee Insurance Benefits, Industrial Relations and HR policies
Skilled in communication, relationship management, and driving culture alignment
Well-versed in data-driven HR practices and reporting
Able to balance empathy with operational discipline
A collaborative team builder who thrives in a fast-paced, people-centric environment
