Job description

Overall Job Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring that all equipment and systems are operational and their integrity complies with MODEC procedures, maintenance philosophy, national and international regulations and standards. This is achieved by managing the offshore Maintenance team, liaising with the client, authorities, and Onshore departments. The role ensures the unit's availability, safe operation, and achievement of production and revenue targets, contributing to business continuity and growth.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Guarantee managerial support for all disciplines within the Maintenance team by supporting Supervisors, supervising, and following up on the status of critical services and operations to ensure safe and efficient plant and machinery functioning, including emergency equipment, thereby contributing to production and revenue goals.
  2. Contribute to the unit's annual budget planning (expenses and investments) by participating in corporate planning, providing information about resources, replacements, services, materials, and other expenses, liaising with Supervisors for accuracy.
  3. Ensure all Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) are fully functional or mitigations are in place to safeguard assets and personnel. Monitor and ensure timely closure of SCE job orders, coach the team on SCE principles, and promote a safety culture that does not tolerate deviations. Manage deferment requests for SCE Maintenance Plans and ensure MOCs for out-of-operation SCE equipment are processed.
  4. Participate in emergency response activities, including training, simulations, and real situations, in accordance with MODEC's procedures and regulations.
  5. Support the OIM in ensuring MODEC’s contract compliance, participating in meetings, audits, and providing necessary information to onshore teams. Support interface with the client as needed.
  6. Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring proper planning, execution, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Manage stocks of spare parts, consumables, and related materials efficiently.
  7. Ensure the quality of maintenance work by vendors, supervising job execution, verifying certification and training of third-party personnel, and adhering to MODEC’s procedures and standards.
  8. Contribute to the technical development of the Maintenance Team through training, competence assessment, and knowledge sharing.
  9. Promote adherence to company's CMMS procedures, ensuring proper input and closure of work orders, and maintain updated IMS documents aligned with ISO standards.
  10. Support inspection activities, including luggage, personnel, and cargo inspections, complying with relevant regulations.
  11. Act in accordance with HSSEQ policies, promoting environmental preservation, health, safety, and asset protection.
  12. Uphold high ethical standards, complying with the Code of Business Conduct, Ethics Policies, and local procedures.
  13. Manage conflicts, conduct crisis management, and foster a culture of ownership and accountability within the Maintenance team.
  14. Communicate contractual, client, and company requirements clearly to the team and stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Degree; Technical Degree required; Bachelor's Degree is advantageous.
  • Maintenance Supervisor certification (MOU preferred) and License required.
  • Marine Chief Engineer License is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of overall experience, with 5+ years in offshore Oil & Gas sector.
  • Previous offshore O&G unit maintenance supervisor experience required.
  • Proficiency in English; intermediate Portuguese is a plus.
