Duties and Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor - MRT Station Project
- Monitor all financial aspects of the project to ensure it stays within the budget.
- Coordinate and liaise with team members, consultants, clients, contractors, suppliers, and architects to foster good rapport.
- Prepare and analyze cost comparisons.
- Obtain quotations, liaise with, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Measure quantities and perform take-offs.
- Prepare variation orders, claims, final accounts, settlements, and subcontractor payments.
- Prepare monthly progress claims, variation orders, and payments to subcontractors.
- Manage and report on project budget and cost control.
- Handle post-contract administration for both main contracts and subcontracts.
- Ensure projects adhere to budget constraints.
- Coordinate with consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, developers, and contractors regarding certification of claims for payment.
- Understand various project stages to source the most viable and reasonably priced materials.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying, or Civil Engineering.
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in main-construction companies.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation, administration, and variation orders.
- Ability to work independently, meticulous, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive, and a team player capable of meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to prepare reports in Chinese for the head office in China.
- Availability to start on short notice is advantageous.
- Good communication skills for negotiation and coordination with subcontractors.
- Company transport provided, with pick-up at Boon Lay MRT station.
