A leading company in Singapore seeks a Resident Technical Officer to supervise construction works, ensuring compliance with design and safety regulations. The role involves monitoring contractors, conducting inspections, and providing detailed reports on project progress. Ideal candidates will be registered with BCA/IES/ACES and possess strong technical judgement.
Requirements
Registered as Resident Technical Officer with BCA/IES/ACES
Knowledge of Microsoft Office for weekly reports
Conversant in statutory codes and regulations, authority requirements and practices
Technically strong, able to review design details, method statements and use sound judgement to resolve site issues during the course of construction works
Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor the contractors' work as Developer's Site Representative
Check all drawings, specifications and schedule of works/bills of quantities in contract document, and report for discrepancies found, if any
Carry out inspections, standing supervision, site supervision to ensure that all works (including demolition, civil and structural works, M&E works and architectural works) are carried out as per the design intent, contract documents, approved specifications, drawings and method statements with the approved materials in compliance with the safety and health regulations and the Building Control Act and Regulations
Verify the contractors' progress payment, claim in terms of work done and materials/equipment delivered and stored on site
Escalate in a timely manner should contractor be carrying out sub-quality work and/or any other site issues
Witness & verify any field test and/or testing & commissioning of services carried out on site
Document, monitor, verify and report on the daily and weekly progress of the works and the contractor's manpower on site
Conduct checks and assess temporary works by the contractor to ensure that the works are safe and in compliance with all relevant regulations
Compile defect list with the contractors and ensure that the contractors carry out rectification work diligently to clear all defects during the maintenance period
Written reports - progress reports to be provided on a weekly basis as a minimum and on a daily basis as necessary. A final report shall be due at the conclusion of the project and shall be submitted in a written report at such time. The results report shall be in such form and setting forth such information and data as is reasonably requested by the Company
