The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore (NUS), invites applications for a full-time Research Associate/Fellow position to join the NUS Cambodia Program to support research projects and capacity-building efforts in global health.
The NUS Cambodia Programme started in 2014 and has been working closely with stakeholders across the research and policy ecosystem in Cambodia and in the region to conduct research that informs policy, build capacity through training and education, and foster regional dialogue on public health.
The Programme's current research projects include maternal and child health, infection prevention and control, antimicrobial resistance and stewardship, infectious diseases (such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis), sexual and reproductive health and rights, non-communicable diseases, mental health, and health financing.
Candidates will have the opportunity to engage with local and regional stakeholders to lead and apply research to drive meaningful impact. They will also gain valuable exposure to global health and work with an interdisciplinary team to contribute to improving the health and well-being of populations in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
• Work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to lead research implementations, including study design, ethics approval, project implementation, data collection, and monitoring.
• Conduct independent qualitative/quantitative data analysis using robust research methods.
• Support and advise junior team members in study design, data collection and analysis, and grant applications.
Projects and Grant Applications
• Work with team members to harness expertise across the team and more broadly with colleagues in NUS to conduct, facilitate, and support collaborative research projects.
• Lead and facilitate engagements with partners and stakeholders, including policymakers, funders, and community organisations, to ensure research relevance and impact.
• Work closely with the PI and partners on grant applications, including writing technical proposals, engaging with collaborators and partners, preparing budgetary proposals, and liaising with funders.
Knowledge Management & Dissemination
• Lead, plan, and contribute to the writing of academic publications.
• Synthesise findings into reports, policy briefs, and presentation slides for broader communications, and contribute to or facilitate the translation of research findings to inform policies and practices.
• Organise knowledge-sharing activities, including webinars, dissemination workshops, and conference panel presentations with local and regional stakeholders.

• This is a full-time position based at NUS.

QualificationsRequirements
• Master's degree or PhD in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Systems, Health Promotion, Social Sciences, Social Work, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of research experience, preferably in global health, public health, community interventions, or nonprofit management.
• Expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research, with demonstrable hands-on experience leading or independently conducting research projects. For qualitative research, hands-on experience includes leading or independently conducting qualitative interviews or participatory research and analysing qualitative data. For quantitative research, hands-on experience includes leading or independently conducting study design, data collection, statistical plan development, programme evaluation, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with demonstrable record including academic and/or non-academic publications.
• Ability to support the PI in leading an interdisciplinary team and effectively engage with stakeholders, funders, policymakers, and community partners in a respectful and inclusive manner.
• Have experience leading or participating in health projects in a low- and middle-income country setting or at the regional level involving several countries is an advantage.
