As the eCommerce Buyer, he/she will support the development and implementation of key strategies to maximize retail sales and achieve planned profit targets through stock control, cataloguing, pricing policy, and merchandise promotions. The ideal candidate should have merchandising experience, both online and offline, in a retail and/or FMCG environment.

Consumers
- Understand consumers’ needs and wants, analyze their evolving shopping and buying patterns to increase sales and market share for both online & offline markets.
- Stay updated with market and customer trends, respond appropriately, and forecast future trends to make insightful buying decisions, considering the shift in shopping behavior between online and offline channels.
Product
- Source new brands and products; review existing merchandise to ensure competitiveness both online and offline.
- Manage the entire acquisition process for new products, including sourcing, negotiating prices, and contract terms.
- Plan for stock levels, anticipate and respond to demand-supply changes and logistics challenges.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to build brand awareness, rejuvenate slow-moving products, and drive sales of existing products.
- Conduct regular competitor analysis to gather market intelligence, generate new ideas, and determine optimal price points.
Supply/Vendor Management
- Source new suppliers/vendors; manage relationships with existing ones to ensure quality service.
- Ensure suppliers provide safe and quality products.
- Negotiate better product assortment, costs, and support for advertising and promotion programs.
- Build strong vendor relationships focusing on management, brand acquisition, and development.
Sales/Profitability of Merchandise
- Regularly review key performance indicators to stay aligned with market conditions.
- Manage space ROI to meet financial targets.
- Grow category sales and maximize margins for profit growth.
Stock Management
- Ensure adequate stock levels on store shelves and in inventory.
- Perform monthly stock reconciliations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Business Management, Sales & Marketing, or related fields.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in retail merchandising or product development in a fast-paced FMCG or retail environment.
- Self-motivated, with high energy, integrity, and professionalism.
- Assertive, diligent, trustworthy, and results-oriented.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and market trend awareness.
- Excellent relationship-building and networking skills, especially with suppliers and vendors.
- Proficient in MS Office and digital tools.
- Strong negotiation, sourcing, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication, interpersonal, reporting, and time management skills.
